Broad SSE Calendar One service day per month
Gardening and donating the produce Crane service project Visit to the Brookside convalescent center Few projects with First Step/Foster homes One bhajan workshop (within sse) per month 2 typical sse class Calendar will be altered for regional events, sse closing, Xmas etc. Guest speakers (could be from our own center) One SSE outing per quarter (Kayaking, Water Park Suggestions) The general idea is to offer a variety of activities When we spoke with kids, they all indicated that they really liked hands on activities and trips to convalescent center etc. We are bringing the bhajan workshop into sse to try to get a 99% participation. It is hard for some families to go to the monthly workshops In the bhajan workshop we will do more than setting scale or making sure kids can get the song right. May be we can teach them how to play manjira. We will see how we can help them play instruments that they are learning for a song or two
7
5th Sunday SSE will lead bhajans
There will be a bhajan workshop in place of sse class from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm

Theme for 2011-12: Spiritual Cocktail
Start off with Food Buddhism Hinduism Practice one code of conduct every month from the nine point code of conduct (we will find a way to measure it) We want to do the food presentation first because it is still very fresh with the adults We were not able to complete Buddhism and Hinduism last year Nine point code of conduct suggestion is from Usha Prasad (regional sse coordinator) SSE is all about swami and swami’s teaching so when we do Budhhism and Hinduism, the focus will be more on what swami has said about Hinduism or Buddhism.

Important SSE guidelines – Continued
Please give a snack (especially to younger ones) before they come to SSE If your kids plan to get snacks etc to SSE/Bhajans, please encourage them to bring healthier options like fruits, vegetables, whole grain crackers etc. or something that they prepared themselves After SSE class, all should sit in the bhajans Snacks: - Since we are starting off with a food presentation, we want to be consistent Many times food items are shared, so kids tend to learn from each other - Some younger children have gotten hungry during the class

Important Dates Sunday Sept 11th 3 pm to 4 pm SSE reopens
