3. Izola
Izola is an old fishing town in southwestern Slovenia on the Adriatic coast of the Istrian peninsula. Its name originates from the Italian Isola, which means island.
The town of Izola was established on a small island by refugees from Aquilea in the 7th century. In the 19th century Izola's walls were torn down and used to build a stone bridge to connect the island and the mainland.
A significant Italian minority still lives in this part of Slovenia.

Izola is a town with about inhabitants, it is also known for its vineyards and olive trees. There are lots of festivals throughout the year:

5. Our school
Osnovna šola Vojke Šmuc Izola – Scuola elementare Vojke Šmuc Isola was funded in year 1945.
It is an ordinary public school attended by children from the town and the sorrounding villages.
There are three buildings connected by large halls.

11. In a village Korte above Izola there is our branch scool with 22 pupils form year 1–5, when they are in year 6 they move to our school in Izola.
It has an important role in the everyday life of people living in the village.
The school was funded 194 years ago and it was one of the first schools with Slovene teaching language.
