When they went to Egypt there were 70 strong and came out with an army of 600,000 fighting men.
God fulfilled the great nation promise.

After the death of Joshua the people forsook the Lord.
God would allow their enemies to oppress them.

When that judge died, the people left the Lord and started worshipping idols again.
It was a vicious cycle that went on for hundreds of years.

God anoints David, a man after His own heart, as the second king of Israel.
