Objective: To determine the constant of proportionality from a table, graph, equation, or verbal description of a proportional relationship. Represent constant rate of change with equations of the form y=kx. Describe the meaning of points on a graph of a proportional relationship. Solve problems involving proportional relationships.

The graph of a proportional relationship is a straight line that passes through the origin. Proportional quantities can be described by the equation y= kx, where k is a constant ratio.
