4 Reformation 2017: Christ Alone
As we conclude our study of the Reformation, we come back to where we began. We realize this: that the Reformation is all about the rediscovery of the Gospel when many people and even the church had forgotten. And the Gospel is all about Jesus. God's desire is that every person would be reconciled to Himself by believing in His Son Jesus Christ. Reconciliation comes as a result of forgiveness, and only God can forgive us for our sins against Him.

5 Reformation 2017: Christ Alone
This is why it is through Christ Alone that we can be reconciled to God and be saved. Only God can forgive, and Christ Alone is the One who has made that forgiveness possible. It is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ Alone, not by any of our works or doing, that we are forgiven, reconciled to God, and able to be saved. Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

6 GREETING and SHARING of the PEACE
P: In the name of the Father and the Son + and of the Holy Spirit Matthew 28:19 C: Amen P: The Peace of the Lord be with you all! C: And also with you! P: Let us now share God’s peace with one another. Greet those around you with and say to them, “Peace be with you!”

7 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty; God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity! 7

8 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
2 Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Which wert, and art and evermore shalt be.

9 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
3 Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee, Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see; Only, Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee, Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

10 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty; God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity! Amen

11 CALL to WORSHIP: Psalm 诗篇 115:1, 9-13, 18)
A: Not to us, O LORD, not to us C: but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. A: O house of Israel, trust in the LORD – C: he is their help and shield. A: O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD –

12 CALL to WORSHIP: A: You who fear him, trust in the LORD –
C: he is their help and shield. A: The LORD remembers us and will bless us: C: He will bless the house of Israel, he will bless the house of Aaron, A: he will bless those who fear the LORD – C: small and great alike. A: it is we who extol the LORD, both now and forevermore. C: Praise the LORD!

13 CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS
P: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the work of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You and worthily magnify Your holy name, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. C: Amen.

14 CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS
P: If we say we have not sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (silence for personal confession)

15 P Most merciful God, C we confess that we are in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. But for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen

16 P: Almighty God, in His mercy, has given His Son to die for us and, for His sake, God forgives us all our sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ and by His authority, I therefore declare to you the entire forgiveness of all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen!

17 PRAYER OF THE DAY(今日祷告)
P: Let us pray: Merciful Father, You have given Your Son, Jesus Christ, all authority in heaven and on earth. For our sake, He was slain before the foundation of the world. And in all things He has preeminence. O God, we believe and confess that Jesus alone is our Savior. He alone is the center and focus of Your Word and Your Work in the world. All things were created through Him and for Him.

18 PRAYER OF THE DAY(今日祷告)
And He alone is the redeemer of the world. O God, help us to never let our eyes turn away from Jesus. Keep us away from all self- righteousness. Protect our hearts from looking to the things of this world for hope and fulfillment. Instead, help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, who is both the author and the perfecter of our faith.

19 PRAYER OF THE DAY(今日祷告)
This we pray through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit: One God, now and forever. Amen.

20 Musical Offering 诗班献诗 Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All

21 Jesus, My Lord, my God, my all, Hear me, O Saviour, when I call;
Hear me, and from Your dwelling place, Pour down the riches of Your grace: Jesus, my Lord, whom I adore, Help me to Love You more and more!

22 Jesus, too late I searched for You, To pay the debt of love I owe:
How can I sing Your worthy fame, The glorious beauty of Your name? Jesus, my Lord, whom I adore, Help me to Love You more and more!

23 Jesus, how strong Your love must be, That You should come to die for me;
How great the joy that You have brought, So far exceeding hope or thought! Jesus, my Lord, whom I adore, Help me to love You more and more!

24 Jesus, Your love shall be my song To You my heart and soul belong;
My life is Yours, O Lord divine, And You, dear Saviour, You are mine: Jesus, my Lord, whom I adore, Help me to love You more and more!

31 Reformation 2017: Christ Alone
SERMON 讲道 Reformation 2017: Christ Alone Pastor Scott Rische

32 # 327 A Mighty Fortress is our God
1 A mighty Fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing; Our helper He amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and pow’r are great, And armed with cruel hate, On earth is not his equal.

33 # 327 A Mighty Fortress is our God
2 Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing, Were not the right man on our side, The man of God’s own choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He; Lord Sabaoth His name. From age to age the same, And He must win the battle.

34 # 327 A Mighty Fortress is our God
3 And though this world, with devils filled, Should threaten to undo us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us. The prince of darkness grim, we tremble not for him; His rage we can endure, For lo, his doom is sure: One little word shall fell him.

35 # 327 A Mighty Fortress is our God
4 That word above all earthly pow’rs, No thanks to them, abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours Through Him who with us sideth. Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also; The body they may kill, God’s truth abideth still; His kingdom is forever. Amen.

36 APOSTLES' CREED I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. 我信上帝,全能的父,创造天地的主。 我信耶稣基督,上帝的独生子,我们的主,因着圣灵成孕,从童女马利亚所生,在本丢彼拉多手下遇难,被钉在十字架上,死了,葬了。下到地狱。

37 APOSTLES' CREED He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. 第三天从死人里复活。后升天,坐在无所不能的父上帝的右边。将来必从那里降临,审判活人、死人。

38 APOSTLES' CREED I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. 我信圣灵,一圣基督教会,圣徒一体相通,罪得赦免、肉身复活、并且永生。阿们。

46 P: In our lives there are many temptations to look away from Jesus and instead look to ourselves or to the things of this world. O God, lead us away from these temptations and protect us from the lies of the evil one. Especially preserve us from the believing that we have moved beyond the basics of the Gospel to some deeper faith. Instead show us that there is nothing deeper or more worthy of our devotion than Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

47 P: Help us to focus our hearts and minds on Him, knowing Him more, day by day, as we read and meditate on Your Holy Word. Grant us the peace and confidence that you have, indeed, reconciled us to yourself by the precious and holy blood of our loving Savior, Jesus Christ, and Him alone. And by faith in Him, help us to truly live as Your Holy People. P: Lord, have mercy, C: Hear our prayer!

48 P: For the next few minutes, I invite you to find one or two people nearby you. Each of you should share one brief prayer request and then pray together. After a few minutes I will conclude our prayer time by praying for the petitions listed in the bulletin insert. (Pray with each other for the next few minutes!)

52 As we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation,
