2 Introduction In this book, you will learn Ten steps on how to survive college as a freshman and get good grades. Using these steps will help you make sure that when you get to college, you will be prepared for what will come up, you should reread the following steps before you arrive to college as a freshman.

4 Step 1-Arrival When you first arrive to college, the first thing you should do is to take a tour to all seminars twice, so that you will be know your way around the campus, feel more ease , and get adjusted to college and so that you will be better prepared , when college issues come up, this will help you be more relaxed with what is expected in college.

5 Step 2-Roommates In college you will have a roommate for a semester or possibly for four years, so when you first meet the person , you should try to get to know him or her, so that you can know how the person acts and what he or she does to accomplish their goals and to manage their time. you may never know what that particular individual can do for you, they might be able to help with assignments, issues, or anything you have trouble with handling.

6 Step 3--Be More Organized
In order to do excellent in college, you must become organized. This will help you know where your assignments are when you need them, so that you will be able to find your work, and so that when you are ready to turn it in, you will have it. In order to do this , you need to buy an organizer, a PDA, and a large wall Calendar. You will need whatever it takes to help you know, when assignments are due, because in college, you can not ask the professor to give you more time for an late assignment. when it’s due, then you have to turn it in on the due date, in college, things are run differently.

7 Step 4-Good Places To Study
Find a place that is most comfortable , for you to study in. it might be your dorm, or a corner in the library, however, you should find a place that works best for you, so that you can get your work done, while avoiding distractions and temptations possibly, so that you will be able to do the best work you can do, without noise.

8 Step 5-Go To All Classes You must also go to all of your classes, obviously, however sleeping in and missing your 8 a.m. class can be very tempting . However, you should avoid temptation. Apart from learning new material by going to class, you will also have more important information from your professors about what they should expect you to do on tests , due dates, and other information.

9 Step 6 –Course Requirements
You must also become an expert on what course requirements you need and what days will be the due date, by talking to your professors , scheduling office appointments with the Dean ,and you should also pay attention , in order to know what courses are required , and what you should do in order to get good grades.

10 Step 7-Meet Your Professors
You must also meet with your professors, this will help you get to know them better, and have a better understanding of what they expect from you. In order to make sure you can meet with your professors, they can schedule office hours with them, so that you will know more about their class ,and their way of teaching, and how they manage work. Doing this will have upsides , when getting to know you professor , especially when you run into trouble in the first semester, so you should take advantage of that time.

11 Step 8-Visit Your Academic Adviser
You should get to know your academic adviser a lot better so that when you have course issues, adding or dropping courses, the scheduling of classes for future semesters, or debating on what majors and minors you should take, they will be the key resource for you, and they should be the person you turn to , with academic issues or troubles, so do not be afraid to request another adviser, if do not feel that the first one assigned to you , is the one right for you, remember, you should choose the adviser, that you feel is the one that can help with any academic issues.

12 Step 9-Balance Out Your College Life
In order to make sure you will not be stressed out during the semester, you must balance out your college life, because college is basically a mixture of both social and academic events. Make sure that you do not put the balance too far in both directions. Your goal should be to study hard so that you can have fun later on, because business should always come first, before pleasure, so that you will feel relieved that you had finished your work, however, you should be sure to proofread and check your work, so that you can make sure that it is done correctly and properly.

13 Step 9-part 2- Balance Out Your College Life
you should also vie for good grades, take advantage of study programs on campus, create time for you, do not feel pressured, to make a quick decision about a career or a major, take accountability for yourself and your actions, make relations with students in your classes, visit the career services office, do not waste time, learn how to set deadlines for yourself, and stick to them, learn how to deal with homesickness, stay on campus at all times possible, seek with problems when you need it, learn how to save money, do not turn down opportunities, and be prepared to go through a lot of stressful events.

14 Step 10-Get Involved In College
Getting more involved on campus, is also a great way to help you feel like you belong there, because when you first arrive to college, you just might suffer from homesickness , and a sense of feeling like you just don’t belong. Doing this , will help you develop better social skills , and be less shy and timid. You will also make more friends , than you had in high school, and you will learn new things, and these events will help you learn more about the college you’re going to , and life.

15 Conclusion Now you Know the ten steps to make sure that you have a successful college experience as a freshman. Hopefully, you, the reader, will take these steps seriously and memorize them before you enter to college. you should use these steps to make sure that you are prepared for what may come to you in college.
