4 A 15+ sentence biography on E.A. Poe (slide 1 of 2)
Edgar Allan Poe was born on January 18t h, 1809, and he died on Sunday October 7th, He went to school in England when he was 6 years old. He went to the University of Virginia in when he was 17. But then he gained a very bad drinking problem so he had to drop out of school. He had no job and no money so he decided to join the army in 1827 then he was 18. In Poe had some of his poems published. He submitted his poems to a number of magazines, but they were all rejected.

5 Cont….15+ sentence bio (slide 2of 2)
In 1835 Poe finally got a job as an editor of a newspaper because of a contest he won with his story “manuscript found in a bottle”. Poe married his cousin Virginia in 1836, Poe was 27 and Virginia was only 13, she was Virgo. She died in 1847, 10 days after Poes birthday. In 1844 Poe moved back to New York

6 Your theory on Poe’s Death
I think that Poe died from Tuberculosis because almost everyone in his family died from that same disease.

7 (With 10+ sentences in paragraph(s) form)-Choose your favorite “Poe” story that we have read and summarize the storyline. Explain how he used suspense OR symbolism. How does it add to the meaning? My favorite story that we read from Poe was “The Raven’’ because when the raven is at his window saying “nevermore” over and over again, it reminds him of his wife. As the raven keeps repeating itself, Poe is thinking of all these things that could have happened to his wife and he gets angry with himself. But the thing about this story is that you never know if Poe was dreaming or not, because he says while I lay here, nearly napping. So I wonder if it was all a dream, or if he really heard the raven at his window that night.

8 Finish paragraphs on your favorite story
But all in all it was my favorite story because Poe talks about a raven sitting on his window ledge on a cold winter night, and it keeps saying nevermore and it reminds him of his wife. So he starts thinking of all different sorts of things that could have happened to her and he gets angry with himself and he suddenly begins to think that it was his fault.

9 Conclusion (5+ sentences)
INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: How is Poe like the “father of the modern day horror story? I did not make any connections with poe or his life besides the fact that he had depression.I enjoy the stories that Poe writes because they capture your attention, and they aren't like any other stories or poems, there weird and mysterious.
