3. GEMBus Developed in the framework of the GÉANT3 project
Built on top of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platform
ESB: Software architecture construct that provides fundamental services for complex architectures via an event-driven and standards-based messaging engine (the bus).
Used to integrate heterogeneous systems to ceate a flexible infrastructure
Provides a middleware to build Composable Services. 3

5. Integration of a Reservation System
Use case: AutoBAHN (Automated Bandwidth Allocation across Heterogeneous Networks).
AutoBAHN: Inter-domain network reservation system capable of setting up on demand dedicated circuits across heterogeneous domains irrespective of the underlying technologies.
Creation of single adaptor for AutoBAHN service to enable the communication of the system with other Composable Services into GEMBus.
Single adaptor used due to single AutoBAHN interface exposed to the user. 5

6. Integration Schema Reservation Client Adaptor:
Handles user request for path reservation/cancellation/modification.
Forwards request to GEMBus.
Reservation Service Adaptor:
Deploys the reservation service inside the GEMBus.
Acquires reservation parameters from the ESB and calls the reservation system with the specific user request. 6

7. Conclusion
Through the adaptors a reservation service can become a Composable Service inside a GEMBus registry and can be orchestrated or composed with other services e.g. with a monitoring service in which it can forward the reservation parameters to monitor the network paths.
