To prepare for any disaster you should always have a plan Early warning systems can be installed Sea defence walls can be built around coastal towns For a tsunami you should be ready to run or drive away as the waves can often travel many kilometres inland

How to prepare for an earthquake
Earthquake proof buildings can be built Plans and drills are common in earthquake prone countries If you are caught in an earthquake, you should get under a table or strong doorway Don’t go outside because buildings will fall on you

If a volcano is about to erupt an exclusion zone should be set up around it People should be ready to evacuate if they live near a volcano Sometimes people have to stay indoors when a volcano erupts, because of poisonous gases and ash outside
