3 Direct VS Indirect Impact
Direct Impact: Consequences that immediately follow an event. Ex) Injuries, death, loss of a home, loss of belongings, destruction of buildings and infrastructures, environmental damage. Indirect Impact: Consequences that come about because of the effects of an event. Ex) Emotional stress, economic impacts, pollution, water infestation from broken water mains, disease, increased crime, loss of power, food shortages.

4 Short term VS long term affects
Some events have short term effects, this means that the outcome of the event was quickly recovered from. Life went back to “normal” within the year. Some events have long term effects, this means that the outcome of the event took a long time, if ever to recover from. Life never went back to normal, and they are still trying to fix the outcome.
