Presentation on theme: "Increasing amount of light circles"— Presentation transcript:

1 Increasing amount of light circles
(decreasing amount of dark circles 100% dark circles 0% light circles 100% light circles 0% dark circles Phase “a” Saturated phase “a” 2 dark: 1 light Saturated phase “b” 2 light: 1 dark Phases “a” and “b” Phase “b”

2 Start with unsaturated, single phase “a”,
Add until “a” becomes saturated. Add: Phase “a” – mostly dark circles Not saturated Phase “a” Phase “b” Saturated phase “a” (2 dark: 1 light)

3 Now add more a new phase (Phase “b”) begins forming.
Saturated phase “a” Add: Saturated phase “a” (2 dark: 1 light) Phase “a” Phase “b” Saturated phase “b” The added “light circles” dissolve some of phase “a” to form phase “b” (two phases)

4 Now add more until Phase “a” is completely
dissolved and only Phase “b” remains. Saturated Phase “b” Phase “a” Phase “b”

5 One can approach this from “the other side” starting with
Unsaturated Phase “b” and add until Phase “b” becomes Saturated. Then keep adding to create Phase “a”. As more are added, Phase “b” becomes dissolved and only Phase “a” will remain.

6 Phase “a” Phase “b” Add Phase “b” – mostly light circles not saturated Saturated phase “b” 2 light: 1 dark

7 Phase “a” Phase “b” Add Saturated phase “b” 2 light: 1 dark Saturated phase “a” Saturated phase “b” The added “dark circles” dissolve some of phase “b” to form phase “a” (two phases)

8 Phase “a” Phase “b” Saturated Phase “a”
