You may have said: America and Britain are both democracies but choose their leader in different ways. In America there is a Presidential election every four years and a President cannot stand for election more than twice. Thatcher – the only woman Blair – only one in Labour Party Kennedy –American President, not a Prime Minister. Kennedy - only one assassinated Cameron only one still in power John Major – only one who didn’t go to university or have a law degree.

In Britain there is no limit.
Mrs Thatcher won 3 elections and was P.M. for 11 years. (Robert Walpole served the longest – over 20 years in 18th century.) Tony Blair won three elections as well. Labour’s Harold Wilson won 4 elections in the 1960s and 1970s.
