22 Take Home Points (1/2) The establishment by Member States of a national strategy for E&T in radiation safety is one of the main challenges that MSs will face to build sustainable competence, in compliance with relevant IAEA Safety Standards The establishment of a national strategy for E&T will enable Member States to build competence in a sustainable way and timely manner by: planning in advance number and categories of personnel to be trained in the next future Identifying national resources to be used/strengthened/optimized requesting assistance (e.g. IAEA) in complementation to national resources

23 Take Home Points (2/2) IAEA is supporting MSs on different levels:
By developing national expertise on how to establish a national policy and strategy for E&T (workshops) By helping with the initial actions at national level to establish the national policy and strategy facilitating the collaboration of the relevant stakeholders (expert missions ) By promoting the commitment of high-level national authorities (consultative meeting of policy-makers)
