12 PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
…College, Work, Military… Academics Leadership Individuality Individual Freshmen Conferences For those of you who are interested in continuing on to college after high school, there are a number of factors to keep in mind. First and foremost is your academic performance. Colleges are interested mainly in your grade point average. This is a combination of how well you do grade wise, the level of the class (for instant honors has more quality points than academic), and how many credits the class carries (full year vs. half a year course). Colleges then look at your college entry exam scores, most frequently SAT I or ACT. You can practice these tests in your sophomore and junior year, and they are practice only – which means the scores DO NOT go to the colleges. Colleges are interested in your activities beyond academics such as team sports.
