Commuter’s Choice Program
SEPTA System Overview SEPTA is the sixth largest transit authority in the country serving: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. SEPTA travel modes include regional rail, high speed rail, buses, subways and trolleys. City transit which consists of buses, subways and trolleys averages 622,000 riders per day. Suburban transit which consists of high speed rail and buses, averages a total of 57,000 riders per day. Regional rail averages 130,000 riders per day. SEPTA – BUILDING THE FUTURE – JUNE 2016 2

Commuter’s Choice Program
Program Overview The Commuter’s Choice Program is SEPTA’s commuter benefit program. This program promotes SEPTA’s ComPass Program and DVRPC’s RideECO Program. Commuter’s Choice also includes third party benefits administrators like Wired Commute and Wage Works. SEPTA promotes all of these programs and doesn’t view other programs as competition but as compliments to the ComPass Program. SEPTA – BUILDING THE FUTURE – JUNE 2016 3

The majority of employers/universities are in Center City.
SEPTA’s Compass Program Program Details SEPTA’s ComPass Program is a discounted monthly pass program offered to employers and universities/colleges served by SEPTA. There are over 140 employers and 9 universities enrolled in the program. The majority of employers/universities are in Center City. From large to mid-size to very small employers/universities participate in the program. No minimum number of passes to enroll. SEPTA – BUILDING THE FUTURE – JUNE 2016 4

SEPTA’s ComPass Program Program Details Continued ComPass Program offers our monthly passes at a discount Passes are sold to participating employers at a 5% discount. Employer is REQUIRED to at least match the discount. Employer passes on the additional savings to their employees. Employees are charged the pass at a 10% discount. The entire remaining amount of pass can be deducted from their pay pre-tax: federal and FICA exempt through the 132 f tax code. Employer saves on the FICA related taxes. Complimenting Programs
SEPTA’s ComPass Program Complimenting Programs RideECO Program SEPTA promotes this program for SEPTA riders purchasing tokens, tickets or weekly passes. There are employers that offer both ComPass and RideECO to their employees. Third Party Benefits Administrators SEPTA promotes these programs to large, national employers. Employers pay a fee to these third parties to administer their transit benefit. SEPTA – BUILDING THE FUTURE – JUNE 2016 6

Looking Ahead SEPTA’s KEY Program Program offers new opportunities to grow Commuter’s Choice Easier program to administer-one KEY card issued and pre- tax monies loaded onto card every month. If card is lost or stolen, that card can be deactivated and new card issued. Discount will still be incorporated into KEY Program.
