Mark Scheme AO2 Skills: Analysis and Evaluation (8 marks)
A*/A Grade Answer Answer clearly evaluates political institutions, processes and behaviour, applying appropriate concepts and theories. Answer provides analysis which displays sound awareness of differing viewpoints and a clear recognition of issues. Parallels and connections are identified, together with valid and precise comparisons. Answer includes relevant and convincing interpretations or explanations.

Mark Scheme AO3 Communication (5 marks) A*/A Grade Answer
The candidate communicates clear, structured and sustained arguments and explanations making excellent use of appropriate political vocabulary. The response should be legible with few, if any, errors of spelling, punctuation and grammar. The candidate produces answers with a clear sense of direction leading towards a coherent conclusion.

How to write a good 25 mark answer
Understand the question Define key terms Plan your Structure (3 sides); - intro (1/2 side) - 4 main points (1/2 side each) - conclusion (1/2 side) Careful and logical linking of points Keep argument focused on question (use phrases from question in your answer) Be prepared to attack the question Your answer does not have to be perfect – just the best you can do in the time available!
