1
Automated Docketing With the ADI Wizard for Bankruptcy Courts
Developed By NCMB and COB
2
Benefits of Using ADI Once application is stabilized, 0% error rate of docketed events. Labor savings on docketed events. Labor savings on QC of docketed events. Labor savings on tracking cases for docketing of events.
3
Objective of an Automated Docketing Application
Identify cases ready for auto docketing Create XML files Initiate docketing of cases Perform internal quality control checks Create and deliver reports: (1) Docketed Cases (2) Delayed Cases (3) Exceptions
4
Program Development The Wizard is designed for use by technical staff. Its use requires clear and constant communication between IT and Operations. Available for bankruptcy courts only Get project requirements. Recommended use of a process template, like the one developed by FLNB. Write script in language of choice. Unix script, Perl, Cold Fusion, C+, Delphi, etc
5
Add Wizard Table to CM/ECF
One time setup using a provided utility Only need to run it against one database since the ADI programs can be ported to Test, Train or Live in the script
6
Create A Program (Project) Using the Wizard
From the Wizard directory, type: # ./wizard.ADI Main Menu 1. Add New Project 2. Change Existing Project 3. Delete Existing Project 4. Generate Code From Existing Project 9. Exit ADI Wizard [1 ] Choose option #1. Answer the prompts. Your project is stored in the table using the name you supplied.
7
Program Input CM/ECF Database Name (auto-filled) Project name Chapter
Trigger event type/sub-type (optional) Flag trigger (optional) Deadline trigger (optional) Event type/sub-type to be docketed
8
Program Input (Continued)
Docket text verbiage If form, specify form number Name of ADI docketing user Report recipients
9
Run A Project Main Menu 1. Add New Project 2. Change Existing Project (Not Yet Available) 3. Delete Existing Project (Not Yet Available) 4. Generate Code From Existing Project 9. Exit ADI Wizard [ 4 ] Choose option #4. Select the project from the pick list.
10
Review The Generated ADI Code
A Unix script program is created in seconds with the name: ‘ProjectName’.ADI For example, if you named the project FinMgmt, the resulting code is named: FinMgmt.ADI The programming code generated by the Wizard will likely be 80%-100% complete. This can save hours of programming development time and effort.
11
Wizard Demo Review docket sheet of cases Run Wizard
View Docketed Cases report
12
Include.events Exclude.events
These are optional files. If included, they must be named as listed above (case specific). The files must reside in the Project directory. The files must not have comments or blank lines. The files can include both events and flags. The files must be in format type|subtype or flag|flag name, such as: motion|exttm flag|INST
13
Change Existing Project
Select project from pick list. Make necessary changes to project. Use menu option #4 to regenerate code. The ADI Wizard will automatically make a backup copy of the original project with a .save extension.
14
Delete Project Select menu option #3.
Select the project you would like to delete from the pick list. The project will be deleted from the adiwizard table only, the actual ADI program that will remain.
15
Move to Production After your court has the confidence the system is working properly, move it to production. Schedule automated docketing application to run on a specified day/time interval. Min Hr Day Month Day of Week
16
Future Wizard Enhancements
Add more events, flags, deadlines when building the initial SQL Create delay and exception reports if requested Add enhanced data validation Allow more variable input
17
Two Methods of Tracking ADI Statistics
Use stats.adi script developed by NCMB. Prompts the user to input a date range and creates a statistical report of the ADI docketing. Stats Tracking Website: Modify Site table as follows: si_code -> ExtraAutoPrids si_value -> Enter prids separated by commas (1 is optional) si_noload -> n (auto populated) si_user_id -> ecf_web (auto populated)
18
Summary The ADI Wizard facilitates the development of automated scripting code. Available for bankruptcy courts only The Wizard is designed for use by technical staff. Its use requires clear and constant communication between IT and Operations.
