Cast of Characters Each of you will have a special job that will determine what role you will play in the classroom, and later in the day we will determine them! You are now the stars of the school
As fifth graders, all of your younger peers will be looking to you as role models. I know this is a great responsibility. Since I taught many of you in third grade, I feel as though you are certainly up for the challenge. Let’s set the tone on day one to be the best class we can be! Graduation 2017 will be here before you know it!!

How to Perform our Procedures
A procedure is the order in which we do things in and out of class. Remember our school is our stage, and while we are here, we always perform our best.

Stop all talking Look at me Grab a pencil/pen/paper/post-it/chromebook/laptop/etc. in case I give you some important information!

Act 1: Morning Routine Unpack Make your lunch choice
Jobs/Announcements Copy an homework/get started on any assignments. Transition to classes. Have a a great day!

Act 2: Lining Up and Hallway Procedure
I will call you by group. Hands go by your side and eyes ahead. Walk down right side of hall No talking Set great example for younger peers

Act 3: Bathroom Absolutely NO fooling around and/or wasting time. Enter 3 students at a time No talking Find your place in the line as you exit.

Act 4: Lunch Going Walk quietly to the lunchroom Bringers Buyers
Automatic chargers/computer tracked Cafeteria~ Let’s try to win those ice cream parties!! Quiet Set Example Respect adult in charge Leaving Gather all materials for the games. Line up quietly. Be responsible and respectful to peers and adults at recess.

Act 5: Extra Activities (Spanish, Art, P.E., Library, Computers, and Music) Remember these activities are a privilege. Follow directions of the adult in charge. Try your best, even if it’s something you struggle with. (*Give example.)

Pencils- Sharpen before bell Emergency pencil cup (Mrs. Keating) Communication- Raise hand Listen Respect each other’s opinions

Unscheduled Restroom Breaks-
Use breaks wisely Emergency Restroom Breaks- GO Computer Testing and/or Tech Blocks- Follow Internet safety. IT’s a MUST!! Plenty of follow-up and enrichment activities when work is complete. Report any issues.

Paper Collectors Basket. Papers- All papers should have D. A. N. Date Assignment and Name

Act 7: When Your Finished
Complete unfinished work or homework. Clean your area. Grab a book from our class library or search online. Write a response to text, summary, or peer edit for extra bucks. Complete extra enrichment work. Study vocabulary or word work.

A note from your Director/Teacher
I am so happy to have you in our “cast.” I know you each already are wonderful characters who can bring so much to this class. As your teacher I promise to give you all the tools you will need to succeed this year, and we will grow and learn together each day.
