What does it do to the body?
When heroin is in the body, it activities specific receptors in the brain called mu-opioid receptors. The neurotransmitters that bind to these receptors in the body affect pain regulation, hormone release, and feelings of well-being. Sensation of pleasure takes over the brain through these mu-opioid receptors. How much heroine is used and where in the body it binds affects the severity on of the heroin affect on the body.
