3. Energy Overview
Shows downward trend from 2008 and the kind of seasonality we expect. These are measured from an input standpoint (Coal, Gas and Purchased Electricity)
30 % reduction since FY2007 in EUI measured by BTU’s/GSF

4. Main Campus Energy Reduction Results
These are the results of the program so far:
Measured by Energy Utilization index – Show a 30% decline since 2007.
The blue bars indicate the actual results, the red line is the 2008 iCAP commitment goals.
Largely achieved by Centrally funded initiatives,

New Chiller Equipment
Vet Med complex – review, refurbish, replace, reset

6. Scope of Information Illini Energy Dashboard

eDNA Data Historian
Here is how much information we provide:
eDNA provides the larges scope of information, primarily on the production side and incorporates gas consumption, asset utilization and outputs in graphical or tabular form.
On the other side of the spectrum, the Dashboard provides information relating to consumption and square footage only.

Dashboard can provide comparison of all consumption components of all buildings
Whereas
eDNA provides very detailed information zeroing in at an equipment level.
So, what do we provide Students, Facilities Engineers, Business people?

8. Energy Billing System Overview
Web Based System to allow users access to utility invoices that support the Banner utility charges
Functionality to view, export, and trend meter-level building usage and cost data
Requires blue stem authorization
Users must request access from F&S
EBS (eDNA Billing System) is the most useful tool for building and business professionals
Access to utility invoices from Energy Services as billed monthly.
Functionality includes ability to graph, trend and compare building and meter level energy data.
Reporting features include department, college and other aggregations like .

9. EBS Web / Business and Facilities Managers
Example of EBS web, we’ll see a live demo in a minute…
Usages by building, trends, costs time slice data. Can get to individual commodities and individual meters, as well. Mostly helpful for business managers who pay the bill and facility managers who manage the buildings.
eDNA would drill into the individual meter itself and provide information on voltage, current, phase, etc.
The Dashboard would amalgamate the energy usage by commodity and show you the usage over time, etc.

11. EBS Shortcode Review
Shortcode- EBS account which maps to a Banner CFOAP
Shortcode Prefix-contains the College and Department code (e.g., KP227001) is for College KP-Engineering and Department 227 which is Engineering Administration
Useful for identifying State funded usage for Academic buildings which is charged to a central CFOP.
A couple of points about how the billing works.
Uses “Shortcodes” like Banner Index codes to denote charged C-FOAPAL
Even though buildings on State Support are funded separately, we still identify usage by college and department.
Shortcode functionality provides that ability.
Building meters  Square footage from Archibus space management system = cost allocations.
Each meter can be split into multiple cost allocations. We make adjustments for fume hoods and animal rooms – which use more energy.

12. Charges in Banner
Charges are fed to Banner using the CFOP on the Shortcode and account code which is other utilities
The Banner description field on the transaction breaks down the charges by month, fiscal year, type, building, and shortcode
