3 Workforce Development Programme Aims 2014/15
Capacity Building : To work in collaboration with SSSC and other key partners, through sharing knowledge and practice in order to build workforce capacity and leadership in voluntary sector social services providers. Influence : To improve the impact voluntary sector social service providers are able to make on the national workforce policy agenda, through acting as a voice of, and advocating for, their interests. Funded by Scottish Government : 85K 2014/15

David Strathearn (Integration) Yvette Burgess (Registration and Regulation) Catherine Garrod (Self-directed Support) Michelle Nairn (Leadership) Davina Adamson (Communication) Caroline Scott & Daiva Kriauzaite (Finance & Administration) Same Team of 5 secondees/associates from sector (a day per week each) + communication and admin & finance support from CCPS. Welcome SSSC, IRISS and Unite staff present/contributing to workshops

5 Leadership Promote and evaluate usage to influence continued development of SiL – workshop today focusses on supporting leadership through supervision Influence development of SSSC leadership strategy Influence development of Care Inspectorate’s review of inspection methodology to recognise leadership at all levels

6 Registration and Regulation
Support compliance with SSSC workforce registration requirements – Housing support /care at home supervisors from this month, fitness to practise Support vol sector workforce planning through promoting SSSC Workforce Solutions Portal – tools and workforce data Support qualification and skills development, particularly around welfare reform

7 Self-directed Support
3 events, this week. Focus on practice exchange and practical tools for risk enablement.

8 Integration Support vol sector employers to access workforce development opportunities (including work with SSSC on induction for integrated working) Help statutory partners to understand and engage with vol sector in relation to workforce development Reach cross-sector agreement on ways to measure workforce engagement All complicated by needing to work through SCVO and Third Sector Interfaces in localities.

9 Recognition and Reward
HR Voluntary Sector Benchmarking Data – use to inform and influence policy Influence drafting of procurment guidance on workforce issues – contract values to be set at sufficient level to enable successful tenderers to pay Scottish Living Wage
