Research Pattern of Disaster Planning

It was concentrated in time and space in a society and incurred losses to its members and disrupted the essential functions of the society. Disaster planning is an arduous task and is one of the major concern of many countries all over the world. In the light of this, we are interested in the research pattern of disaster planning in recent years. In this study, a quantitative analysis was done on disaster planning related publications during the time span of 1991 to 2002. Methodology Analysis was based on Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) database using “Disaster planning” as the keyword to search as a part of the title, abstract or keyword. Yearly production increased Results and Discussion 84% of the papers were in the form of articles, 6% as book review, and 4% as editorial materials 284 papers were published in 189 journals with an average annual production of 24 Over 97% were published in English Total citation: 645 Yearly citation: 53.75 Citation per paper: 2.27 Relationship between number of author and paper output Publication output, citation frequency, and CPP of various publishing countries P: Publication, C: Times cited, CPP: Citation per publication, RCR: Relative citation rate Publication output and CPP of various page counts Conclusion Top ten producing countries were all active in scientific research and mostly were developed countries Publication trend suggested that disaster planning was a world research emphasis during the period of 1997 to 2001.
