For volume licensing customers with SA coverage Step-Up To: Becomes with SA or with SA with SA Step-Up To: with SA with SA Becomes Step-Up To: with SA with SA This is not a complete listing of all migration paths. Customers must have active EA or SA coverage in order to qualify to purchase Step-Ups. Step-Ups can be purchased once the new versions become available on the volume licensing price lists. Office SharePoint Designer 2007 is a new product based on Microsoft Office FrontPage technologies. The new product name reflects the emphasis on creating and customizing Microsoft SharePoint Web sites and building workflow-enabled applications on SharePoint technologies.

11 Server Licensing Models
Server/CAL License the Server User or Device CALs to access the server Examples: Win Svr, Exch Svr, SQL Svr, etc. Per Processor License for each physical processor License for each virtual processor Unlimited access to processor (no CALs) Examples: BizTalk Svr, SQL Svr, etc.

12 Server Licensing Models
Developer Tools Licensed per User One user may install and use copies of the software to design, develop, test and demonstrate your programs Testing does not include staging on a server in a production environment, such as loading content prior to production use Examples: SQL Svr Developer, Visual Studio 2005, etc.

13 Server Licensing Models
Management Servers License the Server Management License (SML, SML Suites either Standard or Enterprise) For each OSE (Operating System Environment) that your instances of the server software manage A hardware partition or blade is considered to be a separate device “manage” OSE = solicit data about, configure, or give instructions to the device’s hardware or software, other than to discover the presence of a device’s hardware or software Examples: System Center Operations Manager, System Center Configuration Manager, System Center Data Protection Manager, etc.

14 Microsoft Server CAL Suites Overview

This Suite is designed as an enterprise-wide solution (meaning customers purchase CALs for 100% of their clients) for VL customers with Select or Enterprise Agreements. Core CAL offers these customers a discounted and simplified way (via a Suite) to purchase standard client-access licenses for all of their clients for the latest editions of Windows Server, Exchange Server, Systems Management Server, and SharePoint Server. 16 Tiered Server CAL Structure
Forefront Security Suite (Security Subscription Services) Windows Rights Mgmt Services CAL Exchange Ent CAL (Unified messaging, Compliance) Office SharePoint Ent CAL (E-forms, Spreadsheet publishing, Data integration) Office Comm Svr Ent CAL (Conferencing) Additive CALs Win CAL Workload, File & Print, WSS, AD SMS CAL (Monitoring & Updates) Exchange Std CAL (Messaging, Calendar, Contacts) Office SharePoint Std CAL (ECM, Portal, Search) Office Comm Svr Std CAL (IM, Presence, Telephony) Ops Mgr Client OML (Desktop Monitoring and Management) STD CALs Windows Server Systems Management Server Exchange Server (Std or Ent) Office SharePoint Server Office Comm Server Microsoft Operations Manager Servers So how are we specifically adding these new technologies to customers' Server client access licensing options? The Core CAL Suite is licensed the same. The ECAL Suite and the concepts of Base and Additive CALs are what's new for FY07. ECAL is an extension of the Core CAL concept. In fact, ECAL includes Core CAL and then adds an extended layer of infrastructure capabilities. In order to purchase the Core CAL or the ECAL customers must also have or purchase Software Assurance coverage. With rare exceptions, ECAL, just like Core CAL is required to be an enterprise-wide, 100% of clients solution. So the ECAL Suite is really just a superset of the Core CAL plus access to new server technologies? What about customers who don't want to buy the whole Suite? What are their options? This is where the “Base” and “Additive” CALs come into play. Take SharePoint for example: The Base SharePoint CAL includes ECM, Search and Portal capabilities. The Additive SharePoint CAL includes E-forms, Spreadsheet Publishing, and Data Integration. These capabilities are not included in the Base CAL. Additive CALs are available to purchase on a component basis on top of the Core CAL or on top of corresponding Base CALs. So rather than being forced to purchase the full ECAL Suite the customer in this example can purchase just the added capabilities they want via selecting a SharePoint Additive CAL for as many or as few clients as they like. One final piece around Base and Additive CALs- to customers we refer to them as Standard and Enterprise CALs, respectively.
