The NMMC Climb School Climb School has been around for a long time!
Held each Spring between April – May Typically between students Taught by Climb Section volunteers One leader plus two assistants to every 4-5 students Currently there is no charge for the school Must be current NMMC Climb Section member Goal is to introduce new climbers to safe climbing skills and foster interest in traditional rock climbing

Competencies To receive a “Climber Rating”, a student must successfully demonstrate the following skills: Standard climb signals Lower and upper belay techniques Knots, hitch, and rope handling Low and high angle rappel techniques Toprope climbing Tie-off a fallen climber Ascend a rope with a prusik Participation in a multipitch climb Safe climbing awareness
