WEST DISTRICT GILMORE BASIN RESTORE GRANT TO DO WORK IN THIS AREA
ENDING AT THIS POINT DRAINS TO SURFACE ELEVATION 12’ ENDING AT THIS POINT DRAINS TO A SURFACE ELEVATION OF 9’. REMOVING THIS SECTION WOULD REDUCE COST BY $873,000
17
WEST DISTRICT GILMORE BASIN ITEMS TO CONSIDER REDUCE THE COST BY $840,000 WITH SHORTER DISTANCE AND RAISING THE ELEVATION DRAINED FROM 9’ to 12’ (16 HOMES STILL AT HIGHER RISK AND DEPENDING ON THE PUMP STATION) INTEGRATING THE GRANT PROJECT WITH THIS PROJECT WILL ALLOW THE CITY TO APPLY THE $356,000 GRANT TO THIS PROJECT THE STUDY INDICATES A 66” PLASTIC OR 72” CONCRETE PIPE WOULD BE THE MAXIMUM FEASIBLE PIPE SIZE THE USE OF PLASTIC PIPE MAY REDUCE COSTS BUT DECREASE LIFE A CONSTRUCTION FEASIBILITY IS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE IF THERE IS ADEQUATE CLEARANCE BETWEEN UTILITIES

CONSIDERATION OF GRANT FUNDING
WEST & EAST DISTRICT FUNDING OPTIONS CONSIDERATION OF GRANT FUNDING *** GRANTS ARE AN IMPORTANT SOURCE AND WILL BE PURSUED BY CITY STAFF FOR ALL IDENTIFIED PROJECTS. BUT ALL GRANT APPLICATIONS REQUIRE OR ARE MORE FAVORABLY SCORED WITH MATCHING FUNDS. MOST GRANTS PREFER “SHOVEL READY” PROJECTS, BECAUSE THE FEASIBILITY AND PERMITTING HURDLES HAVE BEEN OVERCOME. GRANT EXPLORATION DOES COME AT A COST TO THE CITY IN BOTH INTERNAL RESOURCES AND EXTERNAL CONSULTANTS.
