CA Standard 6.0 CA Standard 7.0
Students graph a linear equation and compute the x- and y- intercepts. They are also able to sketch the region defined by linear inequalities. CA Standard 7.0 Students verify that a point lies on the line, given an equation of the line. Students are able to derive linear equations by using the point slope formula.

Ex. 1: b) Graph (0, 3) b m
6
Ex. 2: Which inequality is shown in the graph below?
7
CA Standard 9.0 Students solve a system of two linear equations in two variables algebraically and are able to interpret the answer graphically. Students are able to solve a system of two linear inequalities in two variables and to sketch the solution sets.

y = 2(-13) – 9 y = -26 – 9 y = -35 2x – 9 = 4 + 3x –9 = 4 + x –13 = x
Ex. 3: What is the solution to the system? y = 2(-13) – 9 y = -26 – 9 y = -35 2x – 9 = 4 + 3x –9 = 4 + x A) (5, 19) B) (-5, -11) C) (-13, -35) D) (13, 42) –13 = x
