5 Designing a Propulsion System
Is it possible to develop a propulsion system with the given materials that will move the toy car 3 meters? Present and Reflect Showcase the cars. Describe your design and run your car on the 3 meter track.    What changes would you now make? What question would you investigate next? Why?

What changes to the prototype will make the mousetrap car go faster? Engage/Explore Spend about 15 minutes researching what makes a mousetrap car go faster. Helpful website: Explain that this time should be used to make sure each team member knows how to operate a mousetrap car. Distribute a bag of parts to each team. After testing the car and collecting data, each team member should practice running the car on the track. After an adequate amount of time, ask, What did your team find out about mousetrap cars?

12 House Branding Branding Elements Another challenge! Design an activity to use at the beginning of the school year to introduce students to their houses. Include the CCMS engineering design cycle in the activity. The branding materials and activities will be presented on the last day of the institute.

14 Connection to STEM Reflection
List the STEM disciplines in your notebook. For each discipline, write an example of an activity that you experienced during Week One that represents that discipline.
