What motivates Hamlet/Simba to take revenge? (Formalist)
How does Hamlet/Lion King help us to understand ourselves? (Psychological)
The psychological lens helps one understand Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the adaptation Lion King, directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, by showing that society influences reactions to human motivations. Hamlet shows what people want to do, while Simba shows what society expects people to do.
