Evolution of SSCs Growth on GDP
ITIs unable to match up the requirement National Policy on Skill Development 2009 SSCs started setting up in Change of Government – 2014 and formation of MSDE -2015 Release of National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015.

Charter of Sector Skill Councils
Communicate requirements of industry by identifying skill gaps and creating QPs /NOS under NSQF for a comprehensive list of job roles in respective industries. Actively conduct Train-the-trainer programs and empanel training providers and vocational training institutions to facilitate training. Assess and certify trainees Provide real-time information about the labor market through research and analysis to update all the stakeholders on demand and supply.

Number Skilled under NSDC: Star Scheme ( ) – 14 L PMKVY 1 ( ) – 20.7L PMKVY2 ( ) L (& still counting) Shortcomings noticed in PMKVY1 have been duly addressed in PMKVY2 Vocational Training in Govt. Schools
