5 Types of Power Expressed or Enumerated Power: 30 powers specifically given to the federal government; found in Article 1 Section 8 Reserved Powers: powers not specifically given to the federal government are left to the states; found in the Tenth Amendment of the Bill of Rights

6 Types of Power Concurrent Powers: powers shared by both levels of government Implied Power: power to make the laws needed to execute the power of the Constitution; Article 1 section 8 Denied Power: sections 9 & 10 of Article 1 list specific power that is denied to Congress and states
