Mrs. Barback’s Class Newsletter ELA: This week we will compare ideas in the texts “Ocean Sunlight How Tiny Plants Feed the Sea” and “The Fantastic Undersea Life of Jacques Cousteau”. We will continue to work on a multi-paragraph essay for these texts while answering the questions “How and why do scientists explore the sea?” Math: This week we will be continuing to work with time and measurement. We will be able to skip-counting by 5’s on the clock and telling time on a number line. We will also be measuring volume using liters and milliliters. We will be solving mixed word problems involving all four operations with grams, kilograms, liters, and milliliters given in the same units. Social Living: This week we continue to study our government unit in Social Studies. We will define the roles of the government and it’s responsibility to meet the needs of a community. Continue to study your study guide.*Please review the study guide with your child.
