1 John 3:16 "For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

2 The sober truth about eternity
(2 Thessalonians 1:6-10) God is just… {8} He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. {9} They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power {10} on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. (Daniel 12:2) Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

3 The sober truth about eternity
(Matthew 13:49-50) … at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous {50} and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 25:46) "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.“ (Mark 9:47-48) …hell, {48} where "'their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.' (Revelation 20:15) If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

4 How people reject Jesus [not obey/believe] (John 3:36)
We reject Jesus when we add something to faith in Christ like good works or baptism. We reject Jesus when we think that trusting in His death and resurrection alone is too simple. We reject Jesus when we believe there are many ways to get to heaven besides Jesus.

5 Eternal life depends on Christ’s resurrection!
(John 3:16) “….whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (1 Corinthians 15:2-5) By this gospel you are saved... Otherwise, you have believed in vain… that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, {4} that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, {5} and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve...

6 Eternal life depends on Christ’s resurrection!
(1 Corinthians 15:17-20) And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. {18} Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. {19} If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. {20} But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. (1 Corinthians 15:22-23) For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. {23} But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

7 Peace with God, not condemnation
(Romans 5:1-2) Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, {2} through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. (Romans 8:1) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

8 We have eternal life because we have a new kind of birth
(John 3:3) “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." (2 Corinthians 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. (Titus 3:5) …he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, (1 Peter 1:23) For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

9 I am the resurrection and the life!
(John 11:21-26) "Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. {22} But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask." {23} Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." {24} Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." {25} Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; {26} and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."

10 Jesus is preparing heaven for us!
(John 14:1-3) "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me. {2} In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. {3} And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
