Objective: I will write my conclusion of my argumentative essay and proofread my work using a rubric. Standards: W a-e Journal Question: You’re almost there! How are you doing on this essay so far? What do you still need to do?

Paragraph #5 Part #1: Restate thesis statement Part #2: Presents one or two general sentences which accurately summarize your arguments which support thesis Part #3. Provides a general warning of the consequences of not following the thesis that you put forward and/or a general statement of how the community will benefit from following that thesis

Example Paragraph #5 It’s worth it to have happier, healthier, and more academically prepared students by improving our school lunches. Even though finding room in the school budget might be difficult, making this a priority will benefit students directly and indirectly in so many ways. Without an improved school lunch program, how many lives will we be putting at risk? With such a simple solution, we should do the best we can to support our students for their futures.

Time to write! Work on paragraph #5 on a separate piece of paper. SAVE ALL YOUR ROUGH DRAFTS! ASK ME TO CHECK YOUR WORK! You may use a laptop once I see you have 75% of your writing done. You may borrow some sources that I have at the front – White Man’s Burden, Black Man’s Burden, and the advertisements Romero gave you.
