13 Ad Analysis Objective: apply concepts of rhetorical analysis to ads by analyzing the language of five examples. At your table: Get ONE ad at a time. Discuss and examine it: what words trick the view into thinking a certain way? How does it use rhetoric? (ethos, pathos, logos, syntax, diction etc etc etc) When done, return your ad and get another one. You must complete FIVE today.

Thesis and essay need to be in third person point of view. Don’t ask a question Clearly state the ad’s purpose, how it achieves that through use of rhetoric, and the audience it’s targeting Example: While many beauty ads directly show young women how to feel beautiful, Fluid Hair Salon uses cultural, emotional, and social cues to make this salon seem like the premier choice for the modern woman.
