After verbs for hopes or wishes you can use a second verb in the infinitive. The subject of the infinitive or infinitive phrase is the same as that of the conjugated verb. infinitive phrase; Ana is subject Ana espera ir al museo.

If the subject of the second verb is different from that of the first verb, then add the word que and conjugate the second verb. The phrase formed using que is called a subordinate clause. main clause subordinate clause, indicative Ana cree que María Elena va al museo. change of subject
