I demonstrate the ability to think logically, analyze information, problem solve and make decisions when challenged with infectious disease problems or questions. I can discuss scientific methods surrounding infectious disease problems or questions in a comprehensive manner. I understand the basic principles of microbiology. I understand bacterial structure and classification. I understand differences between bacterial fungal, and viral infections. I understand host parasite relationships. I understand clinical aspects of infectious. I understand Koch’s postulates. I understand basic microorganisms and associated human pathogens. I can list common infectious agents associated with respiratory gastrointestinal bacterial, early childhood, sexually transmitted, fungal, zoonotic and vector borne disease. I effectively convey ideas and information verbally and through writing. I collect, interpret and analyze, professional, lay, scientific literature to disseminate accurate infectious disease information.
