1. What is a Tapestry online learning journal?
A learning journal is a record of each child’s learning and development which shows snap shots of children’s achievements and progress in relation to the EYFS.

2. What is recorder in our children’s learning journals?
We can put in photos of things children have made at nursery, samples of their work, or activities they have done.
Practitioners write observations and leave comments about something the child has said or noticed.

3. Who can see my child’s learning journal?
Only staff at our nursery can see all of the Childrens learning journeys.
We are still new to using Tapestry, but have plans in the future to enable parents to set up a secure password to access their own child’s account and only they can view their child’s journal from the comfort of their own home. Parents will be able to upload their own photos of unique moments or achievements of their children and leave feedback for our staff.

4. What should you put in your child’s learning journal?
You can add photos about things they have done with you so we can talk about them in Nursery

5. How do I log in?
You will just need your username – which is the address you have given us and the password that you set up the first time you log on.
You can either go through the web page or down load the app.
The links will be on our website when this log in function is launched.

6. What will happen to the information when my child leaves Elephant and Castle Day Nursery School?
When your child leaves we will download the information on Tapestry on to a CD-ROM so that you will have a
copy to keep for ever. We can also it to you.

7. How else will Tapestry be used?
During parent teacher meetings our practitioners will be happy to share with you your child’s journey at nursery so far; we will invite you for a session where you can have time to spend going through Tapestry with a practitioner.
