Strategy 17 Strengthen Your Child’s Tactile Mode of Learning Many children are “hands on” learners and remember things better if they can touch things like manipulatives or write or draw while learning. WRITING- helps gel information in the brain. Once it is written down, the brain remembers the information better. The very best way to remember an experience is to write down the account of the experience.

2 Continued DRAWING Allow children to draw about what they are learning.
Different parts of the brain are activated when people draw. Research has proven that drawing really helps children (and adults) move information into long term memory.

3 Continue Manipulatives
When children do not understand what you are helping them with have them count objects (pennies, buttons, candy) or build a model or even conduct an experiment. This can help learning make sense. Their own fingers can even become manipulatives as they learn their multiplication facts
