2 About Andy Goldsworthy
Andy Goldsworthy is an environmental artist. He was born in Cheshire , England, in 1956 and currently lives in Scotland. He studied at Bradford for the School of the Arts and is an Andrew D. Professor at Cornell University. Over the past 25 years, he has gained a significant amount of reputation from his permanent installations and other works. The artist works with natural materials, such as leaves, sand, ice, and stone that often originate from the local site. Goldsworthy has produced more than 70 exhibitions and projects all over the world including those in the Canadian Arctic, France, Japan and the streets of London. In addition, he has made temporary museum installations at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles (1997).

3 Characteristics Characteristics of his body of art include the approach of using elements of nature surrounding the work of art or making it complete. The repetitive colour use and using the circle as a focal point. He creates sculptures for his media and collaborates it with nature. Once the sculpture is complete, Andy photographs it and leaves it to remain in the area from which it was sourced.

4 The Carefully Broken Pebbles
Clearly broken pebbles scratched white with another stone across the crack finished as the sun went down in St. Abbs, Borders. He used colour photograph for his media.
