2. Standard Form of a linear equation
Ax + By = C
A, B, and C must be integers (no fractions or decimals)
A ≥0 (not negative)
A and B cannot both be 0
Note: All linear equations can be written in standard form

3. Different Forms of Linear Equations
Standard: Ax + By = C
Point Slope: 𝑦− 𝑦 1 =𝑚(𝑥− 𝑥 1 )
Slope Intercept: y = mx + b
Vertical Line: x = b
Horizontal Line: y = a

4. Write an Equation in standard form
1: Get x and y on one side and all constants on the other
2: Multiply to eliminate all Fractions
3: Make sure that A is not negative

5. Write in Standard Form: Examples
𝑦=−8𝑥− 𝑦=4𝑥+6
