Course Objective :
This course discusses modern techniques in well test analysis, with a special emphasis on pressure derivatives. Participants will learn to identify reservoir models and estimate reservoir parameters such as permeability, skin, drainage area, distance to boundaries, fracture parameters, etc. using graphical analysis and nonlinear regression. Various types of well test such as drawdown, buildup, interference, and multi-rate test as well as gas well test will be discussed. In addition to interpreting pressure transients, test design and common problems encountered during the test will also be covered in the course.
