PMOD composite of the Total Solar Irradiance
the aim is to get experimental long-term information about the TSI

Total Solar Irradiance observations between 2006 and 2012
ACRIM III ? VIRGO/SOHO ? TIM/SORCE 2003 – (?) SOVIM/ISS – ? PREMOS-TSI/PICARD 2008 – 2011 SOVAP/PICARD (SDO has no TSI instrument) NPOESS National Polar Orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System may have TSI instrument – but are planned to start not earlier than 2009 (?), more likely as late as 2012

PMOD/WRC contribution to COST 724 LYRA Instrument on PROBA2
The project idea: To evaluate the response of the middle atmosphere to the solar UV irradiance variability LYRA Instrument on PROBA2 Statistical tools for nowcast and short-term forecast of the solar irradiance (e.g. SOLAR2000) On-line LYRA data for space-weather community Other observations of solar irradiance Chemistry ionosphere climate model (CICM) extension of SOCOL (Egorova et al.,2005) Nowcast and short-term forecast of the neutral and ionic composition of the middle atmosphere
