Get ready to Shout!

Shout invites educators and students to take an active role in global environmental issues. Connect online with experts in the field, share ideas, and collaborate with people around the world committed to solving environmental challenges. What’s Shout all about?

Shout Partners

Smithsonian scientists/ experts (tree banding)
LAND WATER AIR Deforestation DeforestAction Global collaboration Smithsonian scientists/ experts (tree banding) Shout is a three year programme. The theme for the first year is LAND, second year WATER and third year AIR. The first focus and major global issue being addressed by schools across 28 different countries so far is Deforestation aka DeforestAction. So how does the partnership work: TakingITGlobal provide the online virtual platform to support the global collaboration, Microsoft Partners in Learning support the programme with their fantastic educational software and Smithsonian Centre for Education and Museum Studies provide learners and educators direct access through online conferences to a wealth of scientific researchers and experts. For example, whilst asking learners to explore the issue of deforestation, the key solution is the importance of reforestation. Smithsonian have the key experts to help learners understand this. Tomorrow you will have a virtual webinar with a smithsonian scientist who will talk through why measuring the growth of trees is important in this project. Hence, providing you the platform to truly develop 21st century learning in the classroom today.
