MultiBolus II™ Designed to address the unique Clinical Requirements & Needs of CPNB April 2016

טיפול בכאב מבוא ורקע כללי
The Goal Design an ergonomic mechanical Patient Control Analgesia [PCA] device for Continuous Peripheral Nerve Block [CPNB] that best stimulate (clinical efficiency wise) manual injection performed by the physician /nurse in compare with existing PCA devices (manual and electro-mechanical) 2

טיפול בכאב מבוא ורקע כללי
The Challenge Flow rate of at-least 5ml/minute through a 21G catheter and in the range of 8ml/min to 10ml/min through a 19G catheter Volume of at-least 5ml Can be activated by “typical” 80 years old female Semi automatic Automatically infuse the entire volume once activated No parallel flow when device isn’t in active mode 3
4
טיפול בכאב מבוא ורקע כללי
The Expected Clinical Benifits To obtain medication spread over at-least 180° of the nerve cord circumference Efficient pain block is achieved when the at-least 180° of the targeted nerve cord is surrounded with the medication at about 10mm segment, while profound pain block is achieved with 360° medication surrounding 4

On-Demand MultiBolus II™
comparative table On-Demand MultiBolus II™ Features Parallel In-line (without basal flow) Administration Fixed: 5 ml 3 to 6 ml (1ml stp) Volume 5ml/hr, 10ml/hr 6 ml/hr Lockout Semi-Automatic Activation ~ 1ml/minute ~ 6 ml/minute Velocity (21G) Small and compact Large Size Medium High (intuitive) Ergonomic Mechanical Valve (“clamp” type) Hydraulic valve (normally closed) Avoid parallel flow Required Not required (for parallel version at the cost of ~1.5 ml in the first activation) Priming of the bolus device Compression with mechanical pumps I-Flow, Select A Flow is sold actually for the C-Block (CPNB) only 9
10
The Hydraulic Valve Safe Way to Eliminate Fault Parallel Flow that will result with Patient Over-Dose
11
Hydraulic Valve
12
Hydraulic Valve (cont.)
Normally closed hydraulic system; The pressure in the pumps’ reservoir maintains the valve at closed position. Valve is opened ONLY when the bolus device is activated; the pressure inside the device is higher then the pressure at the pumps reservoir
