2 The HOpe Centre is a four-storey mental health and addictions facility located on the southeast corner of the Lions Gate Hospital campus in North Vancouver. Location: 1337 St. Andrews Avenue

How will the new centre improve patient care? The new facility brings together mental health and addictions programs and services that were previously spread across the North Shore, offering everyone involved a more integrated approach to the MH&A challenges being cared for. Completed in September 2014

5 What new services are available?
Now being offered are the following North Shore Mental Health Programs & Services: Adult Community Mental Health & Addiction Services Central Intake Program Rapid Access Psychiatric Services (RAPS) Clinic Acute Home Based Treatment (AHBT) Community Residential Housing Program Transition Program Mental Health Inpatient Unit

7 A good home for BC Ambulance Services
The Hope Centre will provide a new, purpose-built facility for BC Ambulance Services, providing BCAS staff with an environment that facilitates the vital work they do.

10 HOpe Blenz Café This new coffee shop is proudly owned and operated by the North and West Vancouver Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health and will be providing an inclusive work environment for all people, including people living with a mental health condition, working towards wellness.

12 Kelty Patrick Dennehy Resource Centre
This community-oriented focal point will be a location where people can not only get information about mental illness, but also connect with others who are dealing with similar issues.

13 Academic Hub

14 Educating future physicians
UBC Medical School students already come to Lions Gate Hospital for training, but with the new space available in the HOpe Centre LGH’s role in educating future physicians will grow. This partnership is also expanding to take advantage of the increased space with the launch of a new VCH Coastal Rural Residency Program.

16 Research is vital The HOpe Centre will serve as a focal point for individual clinical and community-based researchers. By providing the necessary research infrastructure, this new facility will help support a wide array of new research studies as well as help clinical staff translate a variety of research recommendations into the urban, rural and remote communities of VCH-Coastal, benefiting mental health services across the region.

COastal CommuNity of Care CommuNity BasEd, Collaborative and Translational Research CONNECT will improve population health and wellness by advancing evidence-based care through community-based research and knowledge exchange

21 The new building will house a 26-bed psychiatric inpatient unit as well as allow for enhanced integration, with mental health outpatient clinics and community mental health programs being housed under one roof.

23 Artwork A key component of the Art Program is the use of art to create a beautiful, welcoming environment in the new Greta and Robert H. N. Ho Psychiatry and Education Centre (The HOpe Centre) and help reduce the stigma around mental illness. Art Therapy is an integral part of the Centre’s mental wellness program. Client art produced in the art therapy workshop will also be displayed on the walls of this innovative new facility.
