The Air pollution project!
We have been measuring air pollution around the school! introduces what the project is and how the school ended up doing it, and who the pupils are
2
What is air pollution? Air is made up of lots of gases. Some are “good” gases and “bad” gases that affect our health! Bad gases and particles make Air pollution can make you have breathing difficulties. Air pollution occurs when bad gases, dust particles, fumes or smoke are released into the atmosphere making the air dirty (or contaminated). Kamil

Burning fuel like Diesel and coal
What causes air pollution? Burning fuel like Diesel and coal Cars, aeroplanes and factories are the main culprits here. They blow out pollution. These clouds of white smoke are flying up into the sky.
5
How air pollution affects our health!
Air pollutants is a gas that is dangerous for us to breathe in. It is very harmful to our bodies especially small developing bodies like small children and can cause damage. Millys:

The Great London Smog Compared Modern Day Pollution
Wilf. So , me and Holly will now explain the difference between 1952 London and present Day London. First we will be covering the great London smog. Does anyone know what a smog is? If they don’t get answer move on.
7
What is a smog? A smog is a mixture of Smoke and fog.
The Great London Smog was caused because of burning coals. The fog was very, VERY, deadly. A smog is a thick fog, that is made up smoke and fog. It was made because of coal being used for fireplaces, the coal created a thicker, and deadly fog .
8
How was London affected?
In 1952 in London a great smog led to the deaths of 5000 people, which stirred the government to do something about it, and introduce a Clean Air Act to clean up the air When mixed with fog it created smog which was dangerous to breathe in, and reduced visibility so people couldn’t even see their hand in front of their faces sometimes. Over 5000 people lost there lives due to the smog. Another big affect, was that each day the fog thickened, reducing the Londoners sight to only a couple of metres.
9
Clean Air Act This said : homes should burn smokeless coals
factories should be built outside of towns and cities chimneys should be higher. People are arguing that the Clean Air Act is not working now, and we need new ideas and new policies to help us clean up our air. Over 5000 people lost there lives due to the smog. Another big affect, was that each day the fog thickened, reducing the Londoners sight to only a couple of metres.
10
Modern day Britain pollution
Air pollution in Britain today is still bad today It is invisible. It comes from vehicles which burn petrol and diesel This pollution is very different to the pollution we had 60 years ago, which was mainly caused by burning of coal mainly by homes and factories, which created a lot of smoke which was very visible air pollution.
11
CONCLUSION In general, the pollution is quite bad, but not as bad as it was. In general In mine and Holly’s opinion its still quite bad, but its not as bad as it was

Where had the most air pollution?
S=Well who won Mr Greg!! K=Yeah, tell these tiny people! K=Oh he cant speak right now. Well have to tell you. Drumroll please ! S=In first ……….its the post office with ug/m3 .Naughty cars. S=We’ll skip straight to last to save Mr Greg losing his voice (if this slimy man can talk). K=In last, but in this case best, is……….the KS1 playground with Well done you pile of concrete. Ways To Protect Yourself From Air Pollution
Cycle, scoot and walk more! When you’re dropping someone off don’t keep your car running. Don’t park your cars so close to the school. To protect themselves – walk, cycle and scoot more/ walk on quiet roads where they can. To reduce pollution – walk, cycle and scoot more/ park and stride to school/ don’t idle/

Ways To Reduce Air Pollution
More areas to rent bikes Make more carless streets
