Does not possess any “super” powers Faithful to family, country and his god Brave; feels fear to defeat evil Mental and physical strength Relies on higher force(gods) to help prevail

Homeric/Epic Simile: A long; exaggerated simile that spans over many lines Typically found in epic tales

Epithet Byname: Descriptive term in the place of or accompanying a name “Star cross’d lovers”- Romeo and Juliet “Pallas Athena”- Athena

Divine Intervention: When the gods or goddess interfere; negatively or positively

Hubris: Extreme pride or arrogance- thinking you are better than the gods- would lead to a downfall Fatal Flaw-usually punished by death
