SAP offers customers the following B1 deployment options:
On-premise – traditional deployment model whereby the software is purchased on a perpetual basis and deployed on server hardware and network infrastructure situated on the customer’s premises. Hosted – software is purchased on a perpetual basis and deployed in a data center service provider’s environment. 12. Q. Can SAP B1 customized to my specific needs and/or integrated with other systems?
The answer to both questions is yes. A few options exist for the customization and enhancement of B1 as well as the integration with other systems:
B1 supports simple customization tasks such as adding new forms, fields and tables as well as the editing, i.e. hiding and renaming existing fields and tabs. No 3rd party software is required.
A common way to enhance B1’s functionality is through the purchase of add-on software. This software generally developed by SAP partners and integrates seamlessly into the user interface B1.

Should no existing B1 add-on meet your functional and/or pricing requirements, a new add-on can be developed especially for you using the SAP B1 Software Development Kit (SDK)
Another common customer requirement is integration between B1 and other legacy systems. Data can be easily imported to or exported from B1 using spreadsheets and the DTW (Data Transfer Workbench). Automatic or more complex integration requirements can be achieved using the DI (Development Interface)/API (Application Programming Interface) which uses industry standard integration protocols such as XML, SOAP.
