3 What is Bullying? Watch the video and discuss the question.
What is NOT bullying! Who can be bullied? Who can be ‘a bully’? How does being bullied make you feel? Ensure students have a good understanding of ‘bullying’ and that it is repeated incidents. Important to discuss what it is NOT! Give Specific examples – Bullying is not snatching a toy from a friend Bullying is not throwing sand at someone Bullying is not taking someone’s belongings without asking Bullying is not walking away from a friend to play with someone else

View the digital story Topsy and Tim Help a Friend What did Topsy and Tim do to help their friend who was getting bullied? What other things could they do to find a solution to their friend’s bullying? We ALL have the power to STOP bullying! Discuss the positive ways that Topsy and Tim helped their friend who was being bullied. Ask the students to brainstorm other ways they could help their friend.

10 Say NO to bullying! Say YES to our own wellbeing!
What positive (good) things can you do if you are being bullied? YOU have the power!!! – Make a class list with your teacher. Brainstorm what children can do themselves if being bullied.

11 Wellbeing at Oakhill Drive: The ‘Buddy Bench’
When might a student go to sit on the ‘buddy bench’? Why do you think the ‘buddy bench’ is colourful? What could you do to help someone on the buddy bench? What could you do to help them find a solution to how they are feeling? TRUE COLURS The purpose of the buddy bench (Please refer to the handout) to guide your discussions.
