Strategy for Monitoring Comprehension: Read, Write, and Talk
As teachers remember to… Set purpose for reading text Preteach vocab Begin by reading and modeling how YOU leave tracks Gradually release students as appropriate Read text and leave “tracks” (text codes AND thinking on paper) Discuss thinking “tracks” with a partner (Outer Inner Circle, Rally Coach style, etc. Just be sure to model what it looks like and sounds like. )
